🗨 About Me

My name is Yifan Yang, and I will join the Department of Geography at Texas A&M University in August 2024 and become a doctoral student of Dr. Zou Lei. Dr. Zou Lei’s laboratory is the Geospatial Exploration and Resolution (GEAR) Lab(https://www.geoearlab.com). Our research direction is to establish AGI models to solve problems in geography and other fields. We are also interested in explainable and responsible AI and GIS.

Before entering PhD studies, I earned a master’s degree in spatial data science from the University of Southern California (https://www.usc.edu/). During my master’s degree, I worked in Dr. John Wilson’s lab on models of urban tree shading(https://publicexchange.usc.edu/urban-trees-initiative/).

Before graduate school, I received a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Hainan University in China (https://www.hainanu.edu.cn/). I hope to use computer science and spatial science to make some contribution to the world. I am also an AI4science enthusiast. My hobbies are basketball🏀, football⚽, poker🎴 and talk show🎆.
